Eliot Sorel, M.D., Clinical Professor of Global Health, Health Policy & Management and of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at George Washington University recently co-chaired the Romania at the Smithsonian 25th Anniversary Celebration with a focus on "Culture, Intrinsic Value and Value Added for Strategic Partnerships". The event took place at the Romanian Academy in Bucharest, Romania on July 2nd, 2024.
The scientific program was preceded by a memorable Doctors Symphonic Orchestra concert at the Romanian Athenaeum, featuring compositions the Romanian Rhapsody by George Enescu and Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. Dr. Sorel provided a ceremonial donation of the complete set of Sigmund Freud's scientific works to the Carol Davila School of Medicine and Pharmacy. These two events took place also in Bucharest, on July 1st.
