Medicare Providers: Preview Your Physician Compare Website Information
Physician Compare is a public website that allows patients to search for physicians and other health care professionals who provide Medicare services. In addition to providing each clinician’s (or group practice’s) contact information and areas of specialty, it shows how they performed under Medicare quality programs. Those programs include the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program (known as “Meaningful Use”), and accountable care organizations (ACOs). In the future, it will show quality performance in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and “Advanced” Alternative Payment Models.
If you are a Medicare provider, you can preview your performance data for 2016 on the website through Friday, December 1 (8 p.m. EST). Problems or issues should be reported to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Data may be previewed at the Provider Quality Information Portal (PQIP).
