APA Says Thank You to San Francisco
At the Opening Session of APA’s 2013 annual meeting, APA President Dilip Jeste, M.D., presented a check to Eduardo Vega, the executive director of the Mental Health Association of San Francisco. The association was chosen as the recipient of the “APA Gives Back” program, which was created as way to give back thanks in kind to the city where APA’s annual meeting is being held each year. By last week, the generosity of APA members had resulted in more than $6,500 in donations. APA will accept donations until May 22 and will match the amount donated by members. The Mental Health Association of San Francisco was selected in recognition of its 60-year-history of providing services and education to its diverse community and deep involvement in advocacy and research activities.
