Assembly Election Results Announced

At their meeting this weekend, members of the APA Assembly chose Glenn Martin, M.D. (at right in photo), to be their next speaker-elect. Martin, of Forest Hills, N.Y., just completed a term as the Assembly’s recorder. His opponent was James Batterson, M.D., of Kansas City, Mo., who was the deputy representative for Area 4. In the contest to succeed Martin as recorder, Assembly members elected Daniel Anzia, M.D., of Forest Park, Ill. Anzia was completing a term as the Area 4 representative. He outpolled Stephen Brown, M.D., of Casper, Wyo., who was the Area 7 representative. At the close of the annual meeting, Jenny Boyer, M.D. (left), succeeds Melinda Young, M.D., as Assembly speaker.
